It’s going to happen right? Fallout 4, Elder Scrolls VI, Doom, something else totally awesome and mind blowing! Please let it happen, for me? I’d even settle for one of those – preferably Fallout 4.
CHOOO CHOOO ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN! NEXT STOP AWESOMEVILLE!
For the first time in the history of E3, Bethesda are hosting a conference at the show, and I for one am pretty excited about the prospect. After all, why would they hold a conference if they weren’t going to announce something totally awesome.
We’re pretty sure that Fallout 4 is in the works, there have been lots of little leaks and hints here and there over the past couple of years that seem to suggest it’s true, and time will tell if they are. Surely next month would be the perfect time to announce it, and get E3 off to a booming start.
In case you hadn’t noticed I quite like Fallout, more specifically Fallout 3, it was amazing, in my opinion. Yea, I know it divides opinions of hardcore Fallout fans, but I’ve never really played the first ones, so number 3 was my first taste of the post apocalyptic world.
I would spend hours just wondering around the waste land searching ever nook and cranny for the all the rare weapons, and basically anything else I found interesting along the way.
The possibilities for Fallout 4 have me drooling. Think how awesome and huge Skyrim was, and that came out 4 years ago. Imagine what they’d be capable of now!
There are a few things I’d like to see in a new Fallout game.
– A bit more colour. Fallout 3 and New Vegas were pretty brown. Yea, I get it’s a wasteland, but I’d just want to see a little more colour in the world.
– More crazy weapons. The Fatman was awesome. Basically I want more crazy guns like that, with more options for customising them.
– Busier places. Sure the other games in the series had cities, or built up areas. But they weren’t ever really that busy. I’d like to see bigger populations in the more built up areas, make them feel like bustling post war market places.
– Keep the 20’s feel of the game. I love the blend of the future with the 1920’s kind of style and music. Man, that music. It always had me tapping along. Bingo Bango Bongo, I don’t want to leave Congo, oh no no no no no. Come on everyone, sing along!
I could go on really, but I won’t. I will just say that the prospect of Fallout 4 at this year’s E3 has me very excited indeed.
A new Elder Scrolls game would be amazing to see, but I think it’s pretty unlikely. With Elder Scrolls Online not far from dropping on consoles, I can’t see Bethesda wanting to take attention away from that too much. I’m sure we will get some promotional stuff for ESO, but beyond that, I get the feeling that Elder Scrolls news will be pretty quiet.
Now that the subscription fees have been dropped from ESO, I am actually pretty interested in it, so I will be keeping a close eye on anything they do show to see how it’s looking.
When I started to write this, I was thinking there would definitely be some news about the next Doom game from id Software, lo and behold a couple of days ago we got a teaser telling us there would be a full gameplay reveal at Bethesda’s show.
But, what about the Doom Beta? Where did that go. I’m guessing we will also get to hear some news about that, and when people will get to play it. I can hear it now, “And the Doom beta is available to download and play right now!”
But what else can we expect to see from Bethesda during their show?
Rumours are circulating that we could see sequels to Dishonoured and Wolfenstein being announced, both of which I haven’t played, but I know a lot of people will be hoping this is true.
Personally I think it might be a little too soon for a Wolfenstein sequel, we’ve only recently seen the expansion come out for it. Although I’m sure there would be a lot of happy people if it were to happen – Wolfenstein was a bit of a sleeper hit for many gamers.
If one of those were to be getting a sequel announced I think it would be Dishonoured, but honestly, I don’t know how likely that is.
What about Battlecry? I think there could be a good chance that we will see some more of it. It has a pencilled in release date of 2015, but that’s not very specific.
If you’re like me and don’t really know a lot about Battlecry, this is what it is.

Take on the role of an elite warrior and engage in brutal, high-action, 32-player battles in a variety of gameplay modes. Responsive, smooth controls unleash violent, high-impact, and stunning combo attacks previously reserved for modern brawlers. Dynamic movement allows you to seamlessly grapple, evade and mantle to quickly cover distances and evade the other team. Engage in combat and use the game’s Adrenaline system to unlock special powers for a short time or conserve Adrenaline to unleash your lethal Ultimate ability when the time is right. In BATTLECRY, your skill, timing, and teamwork create a diverse gameplay experience.
One other game that could potentially see a sequel is Evil Within. The first game was pretty well received, and also sold quite well from what I’ve seen, so there is potential demand for a sequel.
To be honest, I think what most people want to see if either a new Fallout game or Elder Scrolls game, with the former being the more likely. If Fallout 4 does get announced, then E3 is going to be off to a flying start! Not too long to wait!
