Last year the wheels fell off the bus a few days before the start of E3 and leaks and confirmations of games started to appear. This year it’s not so much leaks, but we’re already getting confirmations of games and reveals while we’re still just under a month away.
So much like last years post, I figure we should get the ball rolling with pre E3 leaks, rumours and confirmations, and seeing as we’ve just had a rather large amount of news break we’re starting earlier than last year.
Confirmations:
Ubisoft confirm Far Cry 5, Assassins Creed & Crew 2.
During Ubisoft’s financial call they confirmed their 2017 lineup which will feature Assassins Creed, Crew 2, Far Cry 5 and South Park. They also announced that there will be 4 AAA games for 2018 with one new IP. No details revealed about any of the games revealed. Just more information to come, so expect full reveals of the 2017 titles at their conference at E3. Looking forward to see if they are going old Western style with Far Cry 5 in the possible year of Red Dead 2.
Lego Marvel Heros 2 Announced
Lego Marvel Hero’s one was quite well received, however Lego Avengers couldn’t build upon the surprise of the first Marvel hero game. So this this sequel is going down quite well in the gaming community. The details released all sound really nice too, as it’ll be apparently open world.
Players will go head-to-head with the time-traveling Kang the Conqueror in an epic battle across Chronopolis, from Ancient Egypt and The Old West to Sakaar and New York City in 2099. Along the way, gamers will be able to take control of a host of iconic characters, from Cowboy Captain America from the past to Spider-Man 2099 from the future along with Thor, Hulk, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Green Goblin, and dozens of other Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains.
Sonic Forces – Create your own hero
In a move that is going to send furry fans and Sonic fantasy fans into overdrive, Sega confirmed that in Sonic Forces you’ll be able to create your own hero. What have you done Sega? What have you done?
The seven character types each come with their own special ability, which are:
Bear — Blows away enemies with a homing attack
Bird — Flies high with double jump abilities
Cat — Keeps one ring after being hit
Dog — Restarts with five rings after the player dies
Hedgehog — Collects rings when getting damaged
Rabbit — Has longer invincible time after receiving damage
Wolf — Automatically draws in rings when near them
Beyond choosing one of these seven types, players can customize the look of their character, including outfitting them with hundreds of accessories and costuming options unlocked while playing through the game. Each customized Hero will have a grappling hook as a means of platforming, and the characters can be customized further via Wispons, which are a new take on the Color Powers from Sonic Colors. The Wispons are unique gadgets that can be used both as weapons and for traversing through levels.

Halo 6 WON’T be at E3, but 343 will be showing something:
So no Halo 6 tease on Scorpio, but 343 will be there with a little something. Perhaps Halo Wars 2 DLC?
Halo developer 343 Industries has confirmed the next mainline entry in Microsoft’s sci-fi shooter series won’t be at E3 2017.
In a post on reddit, 343 community manager Brian Jarrard (aka sk7ch343) tempered fans’ expectations for this year’s expo, saying that while the studio will have something at E3, it won’t be tied to Halo 6.
“I’ll slip into my Dreamcrusher persona for a minute in the name of realistic expectations: We’ve said this already but we’ll have a little something at E3 but it’s not related to the next major entry in the franchise,” Jarrard said.
Rumours
Shenmue 1 & 2 HD Remasters / Ports
Only one rumour really doing the rounds so far, and that is that Shenmue 1 and 2 ports / remaster might make an appearance at the show to capitalize on the Shenmue 3 buzz.
Back in April Bluepoint games confirmed they are working on a project “remaking a classic for current gen”. Bluepoint are of course very good at remasters for current generation with work on Uncharted Collection & Gravity Rush key examples.
Peter Dalton, Bluepoint Games – April, 2017: We are passionately at work remaking a classic for current-gen game systems, growing our capabilities as a team and raising the bar for what fans anticipate from us.”
And with more hype, the poster who wrote about the rumoured Parappa the Rapper and Gitaro Man cross over game which was later confirmed has been writing more about the potential remasters:
Kiske over at the Shenmue Dojo. The same author of the rumored Shenmue HD article, “I love Japanese Games” also wrote an article with the rumor of a Parappa the Rappa and Gitaroo crossover game, which was basically confirmed on Friday with the launch of a website:

Confirmed article – http://www.ricedigital.co.uk/project…bit-confirmed/
Oh and just to follow it up, Gio Corsi the Playstation 3rd party director just happened to build more hype:
And that’s what we’ve got so far. Sure there’ll be more to confirm or leak in the weeks leading up to E3.
