Immortals Fenyx Rising
I actually picked this game up during Epic’s Winter sale for a very good price. However, I’ve only really just got around to playing any of it. In this action-adventure you play as Fenyx, a mortal on a ques to save the Greek Gods from a terrible curse. There are loads of comparisons to Breath of the Wild and it’s easy to see why. The game clearly takes inspiration from it with the freedom of its open world and the ability to tackle things in almost whatever order you like. There are also dungeon-like puzzle rooms to solve, hundreds of secrets to find and you’re free to go about your adventure however you see fit.

After playing the first couple of hours I do really enjoy the game. It’s very tongue and cheek and its humour is very self-aware and fairly silly. I think it would fall flat for some people, or you might find it cringy. That being said, I don’t mind it too much. Sometimes it’s nice to have a break from all the seriousness in some video games and have a game that doesn’t try to take itself too seriously.
It’s a fun game and I’m looking forward to spending more time getting lost searching for secrets and solving puzzles on many of the large islands.
New PC
Just before Christmas I finally took the plunge on getting a new rig. Mine was started to get a little old and tired. With some newer games, it was showing the strain of being on a 5-6-year-old processor. The need for an upgrade was well overdue. Due to my motherboard also being old, I wasn’t really in a position to upgrade a few parts. A whole new build was needed.

I decided I didn’t want to fully build it myself but rather pick the parts and have someone else do the building. So I took to PC Specialist and put together my new PC. I managed to snag an RTX 3080 just before the new year so I’ve had that for a couple of weeks in my older rig and whilst it provided some performance boosts, my CPU was seriously bottlenecking it. Now that I have my full rig I can make full use of the 3080 and I have to say that I’m beyond impressed so far. Star Wars Battlefront 2 runs at 200fps on ultra settings, Cyberpunk 2077 is 100fps. I knew it was going to be a good boost, but it has exceeded my expectations in so many ways.

Needless to say, I’m extremely happy with my purchase. With that in mind, I will be getting back to more regular streaming so if you want to ask me about the full rig, then come over to my Twitch channel and say hi.

Grand Theft Auto: Online
It’s still got its hooks into me. A weekly update on how things are progressing in GTA Online world.
Well, I completed a heist with 2 friends since our last update. It was the casino heist mission and the variant was the silent stealthy approach. For many nights it frustrated us immensely but after some more heist prep missions were completed which included unlocking all level 1 and 2 door keys we finally cracked it. We genuinely knew the movement of every guard on the mission after having tried it so many times. We knew each camera position and all. Just absolutely crazy how many hours we took trying to get this one done.
With the earnings and the additional $200,000 from Prime Gaming, I’d reached $4m so was ready to plunge into the Nightclub ownership idea. So now with a nightclub with 2 staff members sourcing cocaine and cargo for me in my fully upgraded transport van I’m ready to bring in additional money on top of the motorcycle club cocaine lockup and vehicle selling business.

Also on the weekend a few of us took a break from the money side of things and just played some online missions like team deathmatches and some racing. We also had a laugh playing some of the actual online strategy missions like stealing the Cargobob from the military base and blowing up all the fighter planes. It was a good laugh all around and despite not trying to actively earn money, we still made a good wedge from it.
I really need to find time to play some of my Christmas pickups and equally want to get Immortals which Will has been playing above, but I just can’t shake the GTA Online bug currently.
