Dungeons & Kingdoms is the upcoming single-player genre mashup combining elements of City-builders, with dungeon-crawling RPG’s. And it looks pretty darn cool. Build up your Castle and city, whilst protecting your townsfolk from raiders and other dangerous creatures in the wild. Explore ancient ruins, temples, and dungeons to uncover bountiful rewards and fearsome bosses.
Start Fresh
Fleeing from an unlivable land you and a small group of refugees must start life a-new. Build everything from the group up and make use of the modular building system that will allow you to mix and match over 500 custom building pieces. If you create something you’re particularly proud of you can save it as a blueprint and share it with others.
Sculpt the land in any shape you want. Build moats, flatten areas for farmlands, raise hills, and dig valleys to create a land that will be truly unique. As you explore and expand you’ll be foraging for food, harvesting resources, and crafting tools and weapons, to help grow your economy. Additionally, you’ll need to hunt wild animals to provide more food. It’s a wild world and you need to keep your villagers safe.
Delve Deep & Defend
Spread across your lands are various dungeons, ancient ruins, and temples that will test out your combat skills. Explore them and fight against tough bosses to find rewarding loot. You’ll also find unique resources that you will only find hidden in these places. Furthermore, you will have to fend off raiders who can attack your settlement.
There’s still a lot more to be revealed about what exactly these raiders and dungeon encounters will be like. But from what we’ve seen in the trailer there’s quite a wide variety of, ghouls, undead, dragons, and much more to fight. Hopefully, there will be some fun and interesting encounters.
The low poly style doesn’t always land with some people but I think it looks cool. And from what we’ve seen so far I’m pretty excited for more. Often times you find these types of games are multiplayer with either co-op, PVP, or both. SO it’s nice to see that Dungeons & Kingdoms will cater to purely solo players. Although I do also think it could be fun in co-op to. No release date yet, but we should see it coming to early access Q4 24 or Q1 25. There should also be a demo coming later this year during the Steam Next Fest, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested.
