Goodbye to 2020
It’s been a tough year for all of us. The pandemic has robbed us all of a year of our lives essentially. Plans cancelled, festivals rearranged, not seeing our loved ones… and least importantly video-game events postponed. Well, there’s a glimmer of light that 2021 will see a change of events, albeit a slow one, but we hopefully will get back to what we call normal.
Video-games this year have been more important than ever to us. In a year of lockdown, not seeing family or friends, video-games have helped to bridge the gap between us. Animal Crossing’s launch couldn’t have been planned any better (the pandemic and lockdown obviously not what Nintendo would have ever wanted of course). It as well as many other games kept us in contact with one another. Big story driven games took our minds off what was happening, even if only for a few hours in the evening. They helped us escape and to process this year.
So it’s a great joy to know that the Game Awards 2020 are continuing on. This year has has had some outstanding showpieces in the media that we love and are passionate about. It’s going to be an excellent way to cap off and celebrate those games that have been more important than ever this year. With that, here are the winners of the 2020 Game Awards:
