Well, that’s it then. E3 is done for another year. It was fun whilst it lasted. But don’t worry, now we can just go back and take another look at all the lovely games that were shown in a little more detail.
For me Bungies Destiny has been one of the highlights of this years E3, and that’s been because of a lot of it has been shown. We’ve now heard about all the different game modes or game areas on offer, 5 in total.
Crucible:- Enter the Crucible to hone your competitive skills against other Guardians in arenas that span the solar system. Victory will earn you rewards and reputation
Explore:- Revisit the worlds you have discovered to aid the City in their exploration efforts, seek out valuable resources in order to upgrade your weapons and gear, and link up with other brave Guardians roaming the frontier in search of action and adventure.
Strike:- Form a Fireteam, three Guardians strong. Infiltrate an enemy stronghold, cutting through wave after wave of enemy ranks emboldened by their fierce, battle-hardened leaders. Confront an enemy worthy of only the bravest Guardians.
Tower:- Home of the Guardians, the Tower is a third person social hub where you can regroup, rearm, and form new alliances before venturing beyond the safety of the City’s walls.
Story:- Destiny features a rich, cinematic story, centered on your quest to discover and explore the remains of humanity’s Golden Age. As a Guardian, you must venture beyond our walls, into a wild and dangerous frontier, and take the fight to ancient evil forces hell bent on our destruction.
We’ve had a chance to look at some of the multiplayer maps from the Alpha, Pike Rampage, and Rusted Lands. Both of these maps are looking great at the moment, and I really can’t wait to see the rest of them.
Each of the 3 Guardian classes of playable characters have also been extensively looked in to, from what upgrades they can get, powerups that can be used, and some of the weapons available. IGN being one place where they were able to breakdown the classes.
HUNTER
WARLOCK
TITAN
I’ve also taken some time to watch a few of the missions that are available in the Alpha, and the character customisation. I must say overall I’m very impressed with what I’m seeing from the game. I just wish I was the one playing it, but unfortunately I’m not, due to the lack of PS4. Murr has tried, and its looking like he didn’t get in either. So we have been reduced to watching everyone else play it. I guess it’s not too bad though, at least we are getting to see what its like.
Before E3 this was easily in my top 5 for my most anticipated games. Following E3, I think I’m going to have to bump it up to top 3, maybe even top 2. To me its simply looking amazing, and is exactly the kind of game I want to be playing at the end of the year. Needless to say come September 9th, I will be lining up to buy it, I may even go to a midnight launch, and take some time off of work. That’s how much I want to play it.
Just for a little extra, here is some gameplay curtosy of MoreConsole, completing a few missions.
