Geekly Review #142

Another week passes by too quickly, summer has officially started as kids have finished school for 6 weeks. This year is passing by to fast.

San Diego Comic Con 2016

I was following the SDCC with interest due to the Marvel panel. We were treated to one official movie trailer from Marvel along with teasers for their Netflix shows coming up, but the rest was kept behind closed doors out of the eye of the general public. Apparently Spider-Man Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 and Thor Ragnorak trailers were all shown. Lucky people. But it was Warner Bros and their DC universe that ended up showing all the goods off to the world. Prepare for trailer blow out below, but please carry on reading after as there was more gaming and wrestling throughout the week.

Trailers:

Suicide Squad final trailer, Justice League, Wonder Woman, Dr Strange, Kong: Skull Island, Luke Cage, Iron Fist.

Captain Marvel Revealed Plus New Film Logos

She’s been everyone’s pic to be Captain Marvel since the film was announced, but it was confirmed at SDCC that Brie Larson will be playing Carol Danvers. Also, how amazing does Thor and Guardians 2 film logo’s look?

Sonic Mania & Project Sonic 2017

Sonic is celebrating his 25th birthday, so Sonic team have been celebrating by announcing 2 new Sonic titles coming out. Sonic Mania is coming out in Spring 2017 and looks awesome. A trip back to the classic 2D Sonic titles of the past. This is coming to PS4, XboxOne and PC. The other title is looking like a Sonic Generations sequel, the interesting thing here is this is coming to PS4, XboxOne, PC AND NX. You see a NX logo at the end of the trailer. Obviously a place holder one. Still looking forward to Sonic Mania.

Pro Wrestling Chaos

Pro Wrestling Chaos’s latest event took place over the weekend at Thornbury Leisure centre. They’ve managed to pull in some talented and experienced wrestlers to their show in the past and their next one in October will be featuring Hardcode Holly and Aldo Rose. However the event that took place on the weekend featured and absolute class lineup with Will Ospreay, Shane Strickland AKA Killshot from Lucha Underground and Chris Hero.

Ospreay and Strickland were involved in a 6 man tag match that was sensational. The crowd were undoubtedly treated to a masterclass of ‘Lucha’ Style wrestling with plenty of high flying and crowd pleasing moves on show. Incredible stuff all round.
