Saturday 5th December Sony held their keynote conference for the PlayStation Experience 2015. Last year’s conference generated a lot of hype, and a lot of anger and disappointment which would go on to be rectified at E3 2015. It was all dependent of your level of expectation for the show. This year I went in with realistic expectations despite the stellar 2015 announcements we’ve had so far.
Here’s how things went:
First up we got to see more Uncharted 4. The trailer gave us a glimpse at selections which will feature, Telltale games present Uncharted?
Shawn Layden comes to the stage after Uncharted wearing a Crash Bandicoot T-Shirt to tease us. No mention of Crash at all throughout the Experience. Is this T-Shirt this years tease like FF7 last year?
Speaking of Final Fantasy 7, The next thing up is a new gameplay trailer of the upcoming Remake of FF7. There is also a great reaction video shown before the gameplay trailer.
Next up to one of PS4’s biggest coups, Black Ops 3 marketing deal. We’re told that The Call of Duty World League will now be using PS4 as the console of choice for the competition.
Next up some Star Wars Hype with some of the best moments from Battlefront so far.
Gearbox are up next to showcase their latest game BattleBorne. It’ll BETA first on PS4, with an exclusive character for PS4 players only who participate in the BETA.
Next up onto another of PS4’s heavy hitters for 2016, Street Fighter 5. We get our next addition to the roster confirmed. FANG.
We’re shown a new game which is a top down, twin stick shooter called Dead Star.
Onto 3rd party and we’ve got Adult Swim broadcasting the games they’re bringing to PS4. Death’s Gambit, Rays the Dead, Duck game, Rain world and Small radios big televisions.
Double Fine are up next to showcase Day of the Tentacle Remastered and Full Throttle Remastered. And a surprise announcement of Psychonaughts: Rhombus of ruins which is PlayStation VR exclusive.
Some more indie games to come to PS4. Invisible inc, Don’t starve together which gets i’ts console debut on PS4 and Zodiac Orcanon Odyssey which again is a console debut for PS4.
Square-Enix Hitman: Go is coming to PS4 and PSVita and another PS4 exclusive revealed is called Brawlhalla.
Sega support is up next with showings of Yakuza 5 for PS3 releasing on the 8th December, and Yakzua 0 coming to PS4.

Onto 2 more PS4 exclusives which got good reactions. King of Fighters 14 and Team Ninja’s “Nioh” are shown next.
Some excellent titles from last gen are coming to PS4 and Vita. Bastion and the Bit Trip Collection are shown. Nuclear Throne is also shown. To keep the PSX crowd happy they announce that Bit Trip Collection and Nuclear Throne will be given out free to attendees of PSX. It got a good pop.
Another new interesting looking title called Brutal is shown next:
MLB16 The Show is shown next, and after that the introduction of a Free to play game launching on PSN only called Guns Up. It’s labeled as a fast pace strategy game where you need to build bases, and defenses and attack other players bases. It looks pretty fun.

Fat Princess is next up and will be available to buy after the show (SO NOW)
Onto a game that i’m looking forward to and think looks pretty great, Ratchet and Clank!
Onto the PlayStation VR Segment. They show us a tech demo which unfortunately didn’t work out all that great on the live stage. Possibly just bad luck? We’re show a lot of games here though.
- Rez Infinite
- Eagle Flight (From Ubisoft)
- the modern zombie taxi co. (Santa Monica Studios)
- Jobs simulator (yes really, and it looked hilarious)
- Golem (From Highwire games who are a new studio and PSVR exclusive)
- 100ft Robot Golf (Yeah really, and again it looked good fun it gets its debut on PSVR
- Ace Combat 7 (The big one that fans reacted to, Coming to PS4 and PSVR)
Onto a game that Sony are going to continue to market massively. Destiny. There is a new mode coming. Sparrow racing, also introducing the Sparrow Racing League. It’s free for owners of Taken King.
And onto another new PS4 exclusive that got a good fan reaction. Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom.
And to close the show off, An unexpected showing from Epic Games. They come to the stage to show us a new MOBA game that’ll be on PS4 and PC only. Paragon. It looks pretty awesome.
And with that, the PSX 2015 drew to a close. It was a good event with more new game reveals and was nice to give focus to some of the smaller titles (FF7 Remake not small I know). But to be reintroduced to Nioh, Ni No Kuni, Ace Combat … I’d say it was pretty successful.
