For some reason, this showcase has got me more excited than any regular franchise specific showcase. We’re getting another look at Resident Evil Village and hopefully some gameplay footage. But what captures the imagination more is the tweet from Capcom suggesting more Resident Evil goodness will be shown. Time to let imagination run wild. Here’s a summary of what was shown.
“What Capcom has coming up for the Resident Evil franchise”, is how the show kicks off. World Premiere notification is shown and the first trailer starts.
When can we pre-order Resident Evil Village, Peter Fabiano will tell us. Resident Evil Village comes to PS4 & PS5 on 7th May 2021. Pre-orders start today. There is a standard edition, digital deluxe edition for all platforms, Collector’s edition for consoles and Biohazard bundle with RE7 & RE8. Digital orders on PS Store get Resident Evil soundtrack as a bonus.
World Premiere of Resident Evil Village gameplay is next. This is all captured on PS5.
There will be an exclusive PS5 demo, players will be playing as a character called Maiden. This demo features no combat or blocking as just seen in the gameplay trailer. Demo is available now.
It’s the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil Franchise, so what can we expect in 2021 to celebrate this.
World Premiere for RE:Verse, which is a multiplayer game featuring many characters from all the games, and comes free with Resident Evil Village.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is celebrating the 25th anniversary by adding Resident Evil themed items to the game on February 2nd.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness the animated film announced last year is featured next. It’ll be coming to Netflix.
Short and sweet, over in 17 minutes. RE:Verse looked a little, meh, but Village looks excellent. Only wish the rumours of the RE original trilogy remaster releases were true.
