So completely out of the blue, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed that Pikmin 4 is currently in development, and even better it’s almost completed. Where did that come from aye? Miyamoto was talking to Eurogamer in an exclusive interview.
Pikmin 4 is in development and “very close to completion”, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto has exclusively confirmed to Eurogamer.
Speaking during an interview held back in July, Nintendo’s top designer revealed that work on a fourth major Pikmin game was well underway.
“It’s actually very close to completion,” Miyamoto said. “Pikmin teams are always working on the next one.”
Nintendo then confirmed the news to Eurogamer in a separate statement:
“We can confirm that Pikmin 4 is in development but that is all we can confirm at present.”
So the pressing questions now. What format is it going to be coming out on? WiiU, 3DS, both or saved for the launch of Nintendo NX much like Pikmin 3 was scheduled for launch of WiiU?
Either way it’s good news and completely unexpected, especially given nothing was mentioned at E3 which wasn’t that long ago if this game is near completion now.
