It’s been a few days since the majority of the Summer of Games shows wrapped up and I still feel like I’m catching up on all the announcements. With that in mind, we’re going to share some of the best-looking games from the PC Gamer Show.
System Shock
Release Date: Coming Soon
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X & Series S, Nintendo Switch, PC Steam & Epic Store
I never actually played the original version of System Shock. However, I know it’s a very revered title and the remake is looking extremely good. SHODAN the psychotic AI has taken control of Citadel Station and turned the crew into an army of cyborgs and mutants. Now you have to fight back.
System Shock looks fantastic, creepy, atmospheric, and an all-around excellent remake so far.
Gloomwood
Release Date: 16th August 2022
Platforms: PC Steam
You can go and play the demo of Gloomwood right now as part of Steam’s Next Fest. And you should, because it’s a really cool stealth immersive sim with an old-school PC game vibe. Explore a Victorian City consumed by an ancient curse. Plan your survival and daring escape using stealth, wits, and an arsenal of weapons.
Farthest Frontier
Release Date: 9th August 2022
Platforms: PC Steam
This is a lovely-looking strategy city-builder. Protect and guide your people as you forge a new town in an untamed wilderness at the edge of the known world. Harvest, hunt, trade, and craft your way to success. It just looks really good.
Rotwood
Release Date: 202?
Platforms: PC Steam
Klei Entertainment has a pretty good track record at this point. Rotwood is already looking like a solid bet. Rotwood is a 1-4 player hack-and-slash dungeon crawler. Explore and fight through a labyrinthian maze of dense forest and vicious vegetation. Forge your path through ever tougher challenges to gain the spoils and craft new weapons and armour.
The Invincible
Release Date: 2023
Platforms: PC Steam & Epic Store, Xbox Series X Series S, PS 5
This retro sci-fi adventure looks full of mystery and intrigue. Discover and explore the planet Regis III. Make use of your atompunk tools to help look for a missing crew and face unforeseen threats. Make choices in a philosophical story that’s driven by science.
Endless Dungeon
Release Date: 2023
Platforms: PC Steam & Epic Store, Xbox Series X Series S, PS 5
An action Roguelike playable with friends where you get cool loot. All packaged up in a sweet-looking sci-fi setting. Count me in. Set in the ENDLESS universe you’ll recruit a team of shipwrecked heroes, plunge into a long-abandoned space station, and protect your crystal against never-ending waves of monsters.
I personally think the PC Gamer Show had the better offering of games. But that’s just me. If you want to see the full list of announcements head over here.
